LIFE SAVING STORIES
Rachel's Challenge Spreads Wave of Kindness
Rachel Scott was known for her kindness and compassion. Tragically, she was the first victim killed in the Columbine High School shootings on April 20, 1999. Yet, thanks to her father, Darrell, Rachel's death has not been in vain. He and his team have traveled the country, sharing Rachel's diaries and story with millions of students, and millions have accepted Rachel's Challenge to look for the little things that make a big difference—and to start a chain reaction of compassion and kindness.
One 9th-grader says, "Your message helped me to overcome my sister's death and prevent my own." And 13-year-old J.B. says, "Before our assembly I was one who would pick on others. After I had a new perspective on treating others. I now see the mental and physical damage name calling causes on others. I regret all the years I did such a bitter thing. I now treat others with much respect and stick up/comfort those who need it." The chain reaction keeps spreading. Check it out at RachelsChallenge.org
